Maria is a young girl living in Spain. One day, her teacher gives the class a special assignment: write a letter to a pen pal. Maria is very excited. Her pen pal's name is Emily, and she lives in England.
Maria sits at her desk with a pen and paper. She thinks about what to write. She starts by writing about her family. Maria has one brother and one sister. Her brother likes to play soccer, and her sister loves to paint. Maria also writes about her favorite food, paella.
At the end of the letter, Maria asks Emily about her own family and her favorite food. Maria is happy to send her letter and waits for a reply. She hopes to learn more about Emily and her life in England.
