Grandpa’s English Lesson

Grandpa John loves spending time with his grandchildren, Lily and Sam. Every weekend, they visit him in his small, cozy house. Today, Grandpa John has a special plan. He wants to teach Lily and Sam some new English words.

First, Grandpa John shows them a big, red book with colorful pictures. He points to a picture of a dog. "This is a dog," he says. Lily giggles and repeats, "Dog." Next to the dog, there is a picture of a cat. Grandpa John smiles and says, "And this is a cat." Sam claps his hands and repeats, "Cat."

Then, they move to the picture of a tree. Grandpa John says, "This is called a tree." The children look at the green leaves and say, "Tree." Finally, Grandpa points to the bright sun in the sky. He explains, "This is the sun." Lily and Sam look up and see the sun shining through the window. They both say, "Sun."
