The English Dinner

Every evening, the Smith family gathers around the dinner table. There is one special rule: they only speak English during dinner. This helps everyone practice and become better at the language.

Mr. Smith talks about his day at work. “Today, I wrote a long report on the computer,” he says. Mrs. Smith shares a story about the garden. “The flowers are blooming so beautifully,” she smiles. Their children, Lucy and Mike, take turns telling their favorite parts of the day.

Lucy says, “In school, I learned a new song in English!” Mike adds, “And I played soccer with my friends.” The family listens and enjoys their meals together. After dinner, they feel happy because they practiced English and shared stories.
